Electrolyte Abnormalities

Give Calcium Chloride Reference IV or Calcium Gluconate Reference IV over 30 minutes.

Titrate to symptoms and monitor for bradycardia...
Stop calcium for Heart Rate less than 60.
Give Normal Saline (NS) IV 2-3 times maintenance.

Furosemide Reference IV
Give (3%) Sodium Chloride Reference IV as a bolus over 10-20 minutes (To treat acute, severe hyponatremia, patient seizing or comatose).
Give Magnesium Sulfate Reference IV
over 2 hours.
Give Dextrose Reference IV
